succeed with your blog

Blog School Part 2: How to conquer the blogosphere?

Ok, so we’ve covered why you should start your own blog.

Now it comes down to the how. I won’t lie, there’s no flawless formula to this, if it were, everybody would be using it. But if you play your cards right, you can completely revolutionize your outreach, brand, and relationship to your customers.

Up to the task? Keep these following advice in mind:

Know your audience

You’re not writing for yourself, you´re writing for existing and potential customers. Ask yourself: Who are they? What do they like? What are they like? What can you offer them? And if you don’t know the answer, research! Read other blogs, get your head around the latest trends – I promise you, it’s all online.

Find your thing, your voice, your niche

Obviously, there’s an unfathomable amount of blogs out there, so why should anyone really bother reading yours? If it’s unique, that’s why. Never mind conventions. It may sound corny, but it’s true – the human brain loves new and different things.

Use social media

This is a no-brainer, but absolutely essential. SEO isn’t everything. Add a Facebook page. Use hashtags on Twitter. Do whatever it takes to catch the eyes of potential readers.Use images

Use images

Posts with images get 94 % more views. In this case, a picture really is worth a thousand words.

Use video

46 % of people who watch video on for example a business website take action after viewing it. Supposedly, a one minute video is worth 1,8 million words (according to Forrester Research).

Use others

Do you lack the time, skill or motivation of becoming a Master Blogger? Don’t worry, with ingenious collaborations you can boost your business through already established bloggers or vloggers. Offer your products or services free of charge in exchange for a review or a shout out. Sponsor a post by paying them to talk about your business in their own voice. Or offer someone their own collection. Superdrug did it successfully with Zoella.
